At 16, she is the fourth-youngest Olympic ladies figure skating champion. Hughes executed the most technically demanding program ever seen by a lady in the Olympics en route to becoming the seventh American woman to capture figure skating's most coveted prize. She represented the Skating Club of New York and was coached by Robin Wagner.
