George Michael ET: George Michael Arrested For Alleged Drug Possession Sept. 22, 2008, 12:38 PM EST Entertainment Tonight Singer George Michael apologized to fans on Sunday and promised to "sort himself out" after being arrested and cautioned by British police for alleged drug possession, Reuters reports.
The arrest happened Friday outside London in a public toilet and Michael was then taken to a police station and cautioned for allegedly possessing class A and class C drugs, the BBC reported. "I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I'll sort myself out," Michael in a statement issued through his publicist, according to Reuters. "And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them." "A 45-year-old man was arrested on 19 September on suspicion of possession of drugs in the Hampstead Heath area," a Metropolitan Police spokesman was quoted as saying. It is typical in the UK for police not to initially name suspects. Michael, who has sold more than 85 million records with hits like "Careless Whisper" and "Faith," ended a seven-week, 22-city North American tour last month.
